2024 Parson’s Math Game Night

New for 2024 the Parson’s Lecture is holding a game night for Math Teachers  and Math Majors to game and do puzzles with a puzzle Master, Dr. Steven Clontz at our local game cafe, Well-Played.

Steven Clontz is a mathematicianprofessor, and puzzle designer based out of the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. His puzzles and games have been published in print, featured at such venues as the National Museum of Mathematics, and included in MaPP Challenge events across the country. His research specializes in the intersection of topology and game theory, and his work also contributes to the cyberinfrastructure of mathematics research and education. Dr. Clontz uses active learning techniques such as Inquiry-Based and Team-Based Learning in his classrooms to allow his students discover mathematics for themselves.

This event will be held Friday, February 23 from 5:30 – 8:30 pm. We hope you will join us for refreshments and games.

The event is a collaboration of the Parson’s Lecture, UNC Asheville Math & Statistics Department and the Math Teacher Circle.
