Association for Women in Mathematics
The Math Department is a supporter and institutional member of the Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM). The purpose of AWM is to encourage women and girls to study and have active careers in the mathematical sciences, and to promote equal opportunity and equal treatment of women and girls in these disciplines. Our student chapter has plans for many outreach activities at UNC Asheville and throughout the community. If you are not already a member of AWM, you can join here.
Mathematical Association of America
The Math Department is an active supporter of the Mathematical Association of America (MAA) and its mission of supporting undergraduate mathematics education. Both faculty and students regularly attend and present at the annual regional conference as well as the national conference. Visit the MAA website for more information.
